For the past few years, Cobb has participated in the annual Illinois River Cleanup – organized by the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission. Over 220 volunteers participated in the event. Cobb-Vantress is represented by over 20 employee volunteers and their family members. Billy Hufford, GP complex manager for Cobb-Vantress, helped organize the Cobb volunteers and cooked lunch for the entire volunteer group. "This event was a huge success. We appreciate all the help from the Cobb volunteers that came out on Saturday. About 2600 pounds of trash was removed from the river. The effort is growing every year and we look forward to even larger event next year." Chris Sherron supplied a kayak that was sponsored by Cobb, as the event door prize to one lucky winner - Wylie Luther, waste water supervisor at the Tyson Rogers plant. In a letter from the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission, Cassandra Carter states, "It was a joy to have you, your family, and other representatives at the event. The presence of poultry companies such as Cobb-Vantress at river conservation events is inspiring and heartening."
