Joel Sappenfield has worked in the poultry industry for over 25 years. He served in numerous poultry leadership roles within Tyson, initially as a front line poultry supervisor and moved up the management ranks, working at poultry plants in Arkansas and Missouri. He has also served as a director of sales, vice president of sales, vice president of operations and senior vice president in the company’s prepared foods business unit. Joel became president of Cobb in 2016.
Roy Mutimer began his career in Cobb in 1995, beginning as Quality Control Center Manager in the UK. He has worked in both the UK as Corporate Animal Welfare and QA Manager and subsequently in the US as Director of World QA and Animal Welfare. Roy was promoted to GM, Cobb Europe in June of 2009.
Mike Pruitt has over 30 years of experience and a wealth of industry knowledge. He began his career servicing broiler farms in 1982 for Tyson Foods. Mike has held senior leadership roles with OK Foods, Con Agra/Pilgrims and Foster Farms prior to joining the Cobb team in 2013. Mike was the General Manager, North America at Cobb from 2013-2016. Mike became Senior Vice President of Production Operations in 2016.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the chicken industry, Stan Reid joined Cobb in 2001 after six years with Merial Select. At Cobb, he became responsible for sales and technical service in the USA, and then general manager for North America. He has seved as Vice President since 2005.
Todd Wilson is a poultry science graduate of Virginia Tech University and has more than 25 years of experience in the poultry industry. He began his career with Tyson Foods in 1989 and has held numerous leadership roles, initially as a front-line broiler service technician, hatchery manager, live production manager, complex manager, director of live operations and senior director of continuous improvement. Todd became General Manager, North America in 2016.
Following receipt of a veterinarian degree, Jairo worked for Pena Branca in 1987 as a production manager and later technical service. He joined Cobb in 1995. In technical service for Latin America and in 2000 moved to the United States as technical service manager for Latin America. In 2002 he returned to Brazil as general manager of Cobb–Vantress Brasil.
Pelayo Casanovas gained a degree in agricultural engineering at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. He then continued his studies in the United States, achieving a Masters in poultry science at the University of Georgia.
After joining Cobb in 1999, he spent two years in the US before moving back to Europe to become divisional technical manager for Western Europe and Middle East. In 2009, He was then promoted to technical director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, becoming responsible for sales as well as technical activities.
Mark Sams joined Cobb in 2005 as the Financial Director for EMEA. His responsibilities were expanded in 2007 to include planning and export. Mark was promoted to Director of Operations in 2014 with responsibilities for production, hatcheries and quality assurance.
